How VHL is organized.
Virtual Human Lab operates as an independent, non-commercial research association in Korea without corporate registration. It is not an official unit of a university, hospital, company, government agency, or military organization.
The bylaws define voting membership, the General Assembly, officers, records, finance, conflicts, research standards, and dissolution.

Membership changes do not dissolve VHL or transfer its records, accounts, domain, or assets.
Regular Members vote
Regular Members form the General Assembly and vote on matters reserved by the bylaws.
Major commitments need collective approval
Material funding, data access, intellectual property, debt, and institutional agreements require the approval specified in the bylaws.
Roles have limited authority
The Representative carries out resolutions and official communications within the authority granted by the bylaws.
Advice does not confer a vote
Advisors and project collaborators do not vote or represent VHL unless separately admitted as Regular Members.
Material decisions leave a record
Meeting records include the agenda, attendance, votes, recusals, and resolutions needed to document the decision.
No distribution to members
Funds and assets are used for academic purposes and are not distributed to members, officers, advisors, or related persons.
Representative · Seung Jun Lee
Seung Jun Lee is the VHL Representative under the bylaws. The role includes carrying out General Assembly resolutions, managing official communications, and representing VHL within the authority granted by those resolutions and rules.
No officer may present a member’s employer, hospital, university, company, government agency, or military organization as a VHL sponsor without written authorization.

Disclosure and recusal
A member with a direct financial, employment, authorship, intellectual-property, disciplinary, or related conflict discloses it and does not vote on that matter.
Terms documented in advance
Money, cloud credits, GPU access, equipment, and data access require written terms that address use, rights, publication, and compliance.
Support does not confer decision-making authority
Support does not confer control over authorship, research conclusions, publication, clinical decisions, or institutional representation.
Private material stays private
Signed originals, full minutes, personal records, accounts, protected research material, and institutional approval records are not posted publicly.
Liabilities and records come first
Dissolution requires the approval defined in the bylaws, followed by lawful handling of debts, contracts, data, accounts, and retained records.
Public-interest destination
After liabilities are settled, remaining assets go to an eligible non-profit academic, scientific, medical-education, or public-interest organization.
